The incident took place in Shelton on Sunday, Sept. 3 around 4:15 p.m. at a home on Huntington Street.
According to Det. Richard Bango of the Shelton Police, a family member arrived home and found the 68-year-old woman unresponsive in the pool.
The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport where she was pronounced dead, Bango said.
The drowning victim was a family member visiting from out of the country, he added.
